8 men killed in head-on crash in near Fresno, CHP says

MADERA REGION, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Eight men were killed in a head-on crash in Madera County on Friday early morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP says they reacted to the crash with records of feasible ejection around 6:30 a.m. on Avenue 7 west of Road 22 in a backwoods of Madera County.

Officers claim a Chevrolet pick-up from (*8*) and a GMC van from the Fresno/Kerman location clashed head-on. Investigators claim the van had 8 men within, that were heading to function in the Firebaugh location. The pick-up had a single person within.

CHP says preliminary examinations recommend the pick-up went across over and rammed the van – eliminating the vehicle driver of the pick-up and 7 others in the van. When the crash happened, several men in the van were not using their seat belts, police officers claim.

One male in the van was transferred to a regional healthcare facility and their problem is unidentified.
