The AACTA Awards held last evening took the opportunity to honour those that have actually left us, with both Cal Wilson and Jock Zonfrillo getting posthumous awards and homages from their liked ones.
Wilson won the Best Comedy Performer for her organizing duty on The Great Australian Bake Off, which her partner Chris Woods, and their 14-year-old kid, Digby accumulated in her stead.
Woods claimed his late better half would certainly have been “bursting with pride” at her success, including that the program was a “dream gig” for her.

“This award was a lovely way to recognise Cal’s talent and persistence in the industry,” he claimed.
“Tomorrow will be four months since I lost my wife, four months since Digby lost his mum and four months since the world lost an amazing and talented woman.”
Wilson passed away on October 11, 2023 at age 53 after a brief fight with an uncommon kind of cancer cells.

“We miss her every day. Thank you so much for honouring her today,” the papa and kid claimed as they strolled off the phase to an applause from the target market.
Jock Zonfrillo’s better half Lauren Fried likewise mentioned her late partner after his program MasterChef won Best Reality Series.
“I’d love to thank Andy Allen,” she claimed, referring Zonfrillo’s fellow court on the program, that was likewise on phase at the time.

She shared when Zonfrillo’s oldest little girl Ava needed to provide her papa’s eulogy, “she chose Andy to stand by her side and that says everything about the very special place that he has in our family.
“Without Jock, the days appeared like they would certainly been drained pipes of colour, yet today is just one of satisfaction and event for the youngsters and I.”
Zonfrillo died on April 30, 2023 at age 46, with his body being discovered in a Melbourne hotel following police conducting a welfare check.

Fried is Zonfrillo’s 3rd better half, with whom he shared young youngsters Alfie and Isla, and 2 older children from his previous 2 marital relationships, Ava and Sophie.
