American Airlines publicizes flights from JFK to Tokyo’s Haneda, citing DOT approval
A significant U.S. airline is poised to launch a brand new nonstop route from New York to Tokyo. American Airlines plans to quickly fly from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport (HND).
The Fort Worth-based provider revealed the information in an announcement late Friday, saying it gained tentative approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to fly the route.
A DOT spokesperson was not instantly obtainable for remark.
It’s not but clear when, precisely, the brand new flights will start. American hopes to start the brand new route “in the coming months,” it mentioned in an announcement, and plans to fly the route every day.
Haneda slots restricted

Expanding Tokyo service
This wouldn’t be the primary JFK’s first nonstop service to Haneda.
