ANTIOCH, Calif. (KRON) — The Antioch Library resumed Tuesday simply days after it was shut forever for protection factors. Contra Costa County runs the center and determined over the weekend break to include an armed guard to the residential property.
Patrons approaching the structure when it opened up at noontime on Tuesday were welcomed by an armed guard standing apart front. This comes after the library introduced on Friday that an uptick in protection occurrences needed a prompt closure.
Library agent Brooke Converse stated recently was the oblique factor in a lengthy listing of security problems.
“There were threats to staff and library property,” stated Converse. “There were damages to staff and library property multiple times, including incidents of things being set on fire.
