SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A driverless Waymo car and a bicyclist were included in an accident in San Francisco on Tuesday, Waymo verified to Nexstar’s KRON4.
The accident occurred after 3 p.m. The bicyclist’s injuries were not lethal, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
San Francisco Supervisor Shamann Walton published regarding the accident on Facebook, claiming, “So much for safety.”

According to Waymo, previously the Google self-driving car task, the driverless car was quit at a four-way junction. A big vehicle underwent the junction, and the Waymo car succeeded it underwent.
The bicyclist lagged the vehicle, and their sight was obstructed, according to Waymo, which included that they rode right into the Waymo car’s course and was struck.
“The cyclist was occluded by the truck and quickly followed behind it, crossing into the Waymo vehicle’s path,” Waymo stated. “When they became unoccluded, our vehicle applied heavy braking but was not able to avoid the collision.”
Waymo informed authorities regarding the accident, and the bicyclist left by themselves, per Waymo. Waymo stated it was “making contact with relevant authorities” regarding the accident.
