Chevron’s Richmond refinery informed the city’s fire division of a Community Warning System Level 1 hazmat case because of flaring at its center Sunday early morning, according to the city.
Based on Contra Costa Health’s 3-tier hazmat intensity system, CWS Level 1 notices have no public health influences and need no activity from the neighborhood, the city stated.
Intermittent flaring might be feasible up until the concern is settled, the fire division published on social media sites. It included that there was “no public health risk nor immediate action required at this time.”
