Person fatally struck by Caltrain in Palo Alto Tuesday

(KRON) — One person was struck by a Caltrain and eliminated Tuesday in Palo Alto, according to Caltrain. The event happened on the tracks in between California Avenue and San Antonio terminals.

The person got on the tracks for “unknown reasons” according to Caltrain. A southbound #114 train came close to and the person was struck and eliminated.

Emergency workers get on the scene and trains were at first quit in the event location, according to Caltrain. However, trains were ultimately removed to relocate with the event location at a lowered rate of 10 miles per hour.

The event is being examined by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Transit Police Bureau.
