San Jose’s mayor is among the many native leaders pushing for brand spanking new protections to hold mobile home park residents from going through eviction.
The metropolis has 58 mobile home parks — probably the most of any metropolis within the state. And on Tuesday, metropolis officers might vote to add one other layer of safety for them.
The new proposal would add a brand new land use designation that will make it tougher to redevelop mobile home parks.
“Mobile homes are the last bastion of affordable housing in the state of California,” stated Martha O’Connell, the regional supervisor of the Golden State Manufactured-home Owners League (GSMOL).
