(BCN) — A second individual shed their life while swimming in the Russian River in Sonoma County over the Independence Day weekend, authorities stated.
On Saturday, the constable’s division obtained 911 telephone calls around 6:40 p.m. for a feasible drowning at Monte Rio Beach. Bystanders were giving mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to a male drew from the river when replacements got here. Emergency -responders tried to conserve the male, yet he passed away minutes later on.

The fatality comes a day after the body of Nasoni Tuitoga, 28, of Santa Rosa, was located. Tuitoga was reported missing out on while swimming close to Villa Grande, an unincorporated area along the river, on Wednesday night.
The Sonoma County Sheriff states that “Multiple people have died in the Russian River in 2024. While it looks calm on the surface, the river can have strong currents, deep spots and drop-offs, and underwater debris. We urge everyone to practice water safety when they visit our beautiful river.”
