On top of fine-tuning their robotic for this weekend break’s First Tech Challenge local competitors, the trainees on the Wilcox High School Robotics Team are likewise committing their time to spreading their love of robotics with the next generation of designers, manufacturers, and trouble solvers.
While every regional high school team is associated with outreach, the Wilcox team went above and beyond.
“We decided we wanted something a little better,” Jason Fischer stated.
This year, Fischer et cetera of the team chose to develop personalized robot sets, called “Cometkitz.” Alongside the sets, they created a finding out strategy and presented them to regional grade schools.
“We worked with the Santa Clara School’s Foundation and they helped bring in funding. I got to talk to a lot of teachers, and it’s just really cool,” Fischer stated. “You bring in all these people to make this one thing happen.”
With these sets, the team participants collaborate with more youthful trainees and present them to the pleasure of robotics.

Despite his fairly current access simply a couple of years earlier, Wilcox team participant Ayanuddin Syed discovered himself hooked on robotics. Now he shares this interest with trainees more youthful than himself when he initially began.
“It’s such a happy place to be where everyone’s trying to work towards a common goal,” Syed stated.

The usual objective of the Wilcox Robotics Team is bigger than simply winning this weekend break.
“It puts a smile to my face every time I see a kid, just excited as I was when I joined robotics work with one of our ‘Cometkitz,’” Syed stated.
